one & the same at pip-squeak chapeau!

After seven years selling her Pipsqueak Chapeau children’s line to Barneys New York and assorted high-end kids stores, Williamsburg local Sveta Dresher decided to open this charming whitewashed brick and wood store in September 2009. She expanded the line to include table linens, dolls, and women’s clothing, featuring seamless hand-felted wool skirts, cozy mohair sweaters, and linen shirts, skirts, dresses, and scarves—all handmade in Brooklyn. Alpaca knit hats for women and kids are a playful winter staple, as well as elbow-length mittens. A salvaged armoire holds felted birdhouses, plus whimsical items imported from Europe, such as lifelike porcelain fruit, ceramic waffles, German chalk, and printed French socks. The store also carries goodies by Dresher’s local friends. by Molly Finkelstein of new york magazine.
